My teaching philosophy is to "never give up on a student". I have seen too many people around me wish that they would have continued learning piano. Since learning how to play the piano and appreciate music is a long and personal process, I believe that a truly caring teacher needs to constantly reinvent different ways to communicate with his or her students. I believe in working with the student, not merely dictating what he or she should or should not do. Born in a musical family where my mother was a professor of piano, I feel fortunate to have grown up immersed in music.  I always remember my mother, who was my first piano teacher, telling me that the role of the piano teacher is not to teach only how to play the piano but to also encourage growth of the inner person through self-discovery.   I have over 20 years of private teaching experience with students' ages ranging from 3 to 80.
